Planning/Building to lease vehicles from Enterprise, commissioners approve

The Putnam County Planning/Building Department will change its vehicle procurement approach and lease cars from Enterprise after commissioners approved the request June 15. Director Lisa Zeiner told the board the department has sufficient equity in its existing vehicles to cover lease costs for the first two-and-a-half years.
Commissioner Tom Helmer moved to authorize the lease arrangement; Commissioner Andy Beck seconded and the motion passed. Zeiner said the switch is intended to address fleet needs and reduce upfront capital outlays; the minutes record no dissent and provide no additional contract terms.
The change follows a staff recommendation; county staff will manage the leasing process with Enterprise and report back on implementation details at a future meeting.
