Town staff reviewed a resolution to set the gross maximum millage and the rollback rate for fiscal year 2026–27 and confirmed there is no proposed change to the current millage. "It will remain at 5.56, which is what was approved at the last meeting," staff said, adding the advertised rollback rate will be 5.3209 mills and that state law requires a 0.667 supermajority to adopt the millage.
Staff said it moved the first budget hearing to Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 5:30 p.m. at Town Hall and will hold the second budget hearing as part of the regular meeting on Sept. 14; a preliminary budget workshop is scheduled for Aug. 19. Staff said the budget materials will be posted online before the hearings and residents may contact staff with questions.
