Sgt. Boller of the Sheriff—s Department told commissioners there remain 16 vehicles from criminal cases classified as abandoned that the department seeks to sell. The buyer who purchased surplus items at a prior meeting offered to take responsibility for contacting previous owners and collecting any fees necessary to return vehicles, or to complete the ownership process if owners do not reclaim them.
Commissioner Rick Woodall moved to approve the sale and to authorize the buyer to manage owner contact and fee collection; Tom Helmer seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The Sheriff's Office will coordinate with the buyer on notification and title-transfer procedures.
