Roscommon to pilot restored transit service in Oscoda County under state-funded three-year plan

Dubois said the remaining share would be covered through fares and service contracts and that Roscommon county taxpayer money would not be used for startup. After the third year, the host county would decide whether to contract with a third party, create its own authority, or operate the service within county government.
Commissioners asked for clarification that the state's contribution would step down each year; Dubois confirmed the structure and emphasized the program aims to restore nonemergency medical and essential trip services in Oscoda County. No formal action was required of the board at the work session beyond acknowledging the briefing.
