The Oneida County Planning & Development Committee voted on May 13 on Ordinance Amendment #09-2025, a proposal to amend definitions in Chapter 9, Article 10 of the county Zoning and Shoreland Protection Ordinance. After staff discussion and a public hearing that included comments from Brian Euclide and Paul DeLeers, a motion to approve the amendment was moved by Bob Almekinder and seconded by Billy Fried. The motion failed with all members voting "Nay."
Committee members and staff discussed the distinction between principal and accessory structures and requested further research. The committee did not adopt the amendment and asked staff to bring back revised language at a future meeting. Notices for the public hearing were posted in the Northwoods River News (April 26 and May 5) and on the Oneida County Courthouse bulletin board as part of the public-notice process.
