The Chair told the subcommittee he served on an advisory committee to K–12 education over the summer and emailed the committee's report to members, calling it "rather lengthy" and saying some recommendations will appear in forthcoming bills. "I e mailed you the report that came out from that committee. It's rather lengthy but some of those recommendations from our committee you're going to see in bills that are coming forward," the Chair said.
He added that members who did not receive the report should contact his staff for copies and warned that members should expect a "very, very robust" legislative agenda on education, referencing work by colleagues and anticipated changes at THEC (Tennessee Higher Education Commission). The Chair encouraged members to familiarize themselves with the recommendations as they consider upcoming legislation.
