Department to present longitudinal math study to subcommittee on Jan. 20, chair says

The Chair reminded members that a mathematics study he sponsored two years ago will be provided by the Department of Education on Jan. 20 as a longitudinal study and landscape analysis. "The department will have that study for us on January 20," he said, noting it will look at who is performing best nationally and which tactics could be adapted in Tennessee.
The Chair framed the briefing as an opportunity to incorporate proven techniques into state practice and said members should be prepared for a robust discussion at the next regular meeting. He encouraged review of the advisory report he had emailed earlier to see recommendations that may appear in forthcoming bills.
