Airport Director Miles Weaver presented project and funding updates to the board. Staff anticipate submitting a new Passenger Facility Charge (PFC) application to the FAA in early April, which will require a 30-day pre-meeting notification and a 30-day post-meeting response period. A T-hangar door replacement project is slated for grant funding anticipated in late summer or early fall 2026, with construction expected in Spring 2027; bids were issued Jan. 27 and are due Feb. 17.
Other items discussed included RWY 10/28 grading and lighting improvements (FY24 grant activity), coordination with Consumers to mark power lines so engineering can proceed, and an EGLE award of $150,000 to remove existing AFFF foam and prepare the truck for fluorine-free foam (F3). The EGLE work requires pricing for roughly 40 gallons of F3 foam and agreements expected for board approval in March.
