County prepares for MN-EES eligibility migration; passport revocation threshold for child support set at $75,000

Income Maintenance Supervisor Jodi Halvorson reported that the county's health care eligibility system conversion is scheduled for completion by July 1, 2026. At that time, cases will be migrated from METS (MA/Minnesota Care System) to MN-EES (MNsure Eligibility and Enrollment System), a change Halvorson said will allow private health care programs to be administered separately; staff are undergoing training to prepare for the transition.
On child support, Halvorson told the board that beginning June 1, 2026 passport revocation procedures will apply to individuals with child support arrears totaling $75,000 or more; affected individuals will be required to address outstanding debt before becoming eligible to apply for a new passport.
