Public works reports PFAS sampling, water and sewer repairs and snow removal hours

Public Works reported repairs to a water main at 195 Shenvalee Drive, replacement of a busted meter at 277 Periwinkle Lane, a cleared sewer backup on West Lee Street, extensive snow removal (about 210 man-hours for streets, 120 man-hours for town properties) and that the first round of PFAS sampling for the water plant and Wells 1 and 6 has been completed.
Public Works staff gave a monthly report highlighting utility repairs and winter operations. J. D. Fadley said the crew repaired a water main at 195 Shenvalee Drive, replaced a busted interior water meter at 277 Periwinkle Lane and cleared a sewer main backup on West Lee Street. He reported approximately 210 man-hours were spent on street snow removal and about 120 man-hours on town properties.
Fadley also said, "The water department completed the first round of PFAS sampling has been done for the water plant and Wells 1 and 6," and that discussions to upgrade the North Fork Pump Station have begun; a frequency drive replacement and compressor maintenance were completed at town facilities. Councilmember Bob King publicly thanked the department for its snow removal work.
