The New Market Town Council voted unanimously (6-0) to approve a conditional use permit allowing a second-story expansion at 9361-9365 North Congress Street that will add one residential apartment, changing the property from two commercial spaces and one residential unit to two commercial spaces and two residential apartments.
Planning staff Summer Medina recalled that the Planning Commission had tabled the request earlier because of parking concerns, and said Sec. 70-150(a)(3) requires two additional parking spaces for one added residential unit. Medina told the council there is room on the property for the two spaces. Councilmember Janice Hannah moved to approve the CUP; Councilmember Scott Wymer seconded and the motion carried on a roll-call vote of 6-0.
