"As of 2024, Roscommon County has 2,380 veterans that call the county their home... total expenditures, $19,328,000," Nemeth said, adding that $17,970,000 are VA awards received by county veterans. He said those benefits circulate through the local economy and framed the veterans' millage as an investment with a measurable return.
Nemeth described ongoing outreach and education efforts to ensure veterans use available benefits and noted programs and service referrals that the Veterans Affairs office provides to maximize federal benefits for veterans living in the county.
