Town Manager Suzanne Harvey told the Huachuca City Council that the Town has been approved for $4,529,000 in a low‑interest, long‑term loan from the Greater Arizona Development Authority (GADA) to finance acquisition of heavy equipment for landfill and public works operations.
"We were approved for $4,529,000.00 in a low interest long term loan," Manager Harvey said, describing the award as an opportunity to purchase badly needed equipment and to budget for purchase and maintenance. Council members discussed how the loan would affect budgeting and equipment needs but did not take a formal vote on a specific purchase during the meeting.
The announcement came during the Council's Feb. 26 meeting as part of staff updates on capital needs. The loan program is administered by GADA to support infrastructure in small and rural Arizona jurisdictions. The manager did not specify an implementation timeline or which exact pieces of equipment will be purchased; those details will be addressed in future staff reports and budget sessions.
