Streets budget rises locally as MPO projects drive $2M increase; most costs federally reimbursable

Staff said the net change in the streets budget is about $2.0–$2.1 million, attributing some 92% of that increase in the staff presentation to locally funded portions of MPO projects. "Out of that 2.1 increase, 92% of that is attributable to the NPO projects," Staff member explained.
Staff clarified that federal reimbursement rates vary by project (examples given of 80/20, 70/30, 75/25), and that the local portion appears as an increase in local budgeting even though the majority of project costs are reimbursed. Typical activities budgeted include drainage repairs, pipe work and signs.
