Staff reported the sanitation budget is lower in FY '27 by about $222,000 compared with FY '26, attributing most of the reduction to a street sweeper that had been budgeted in the prior year. "The change is actually a decrease from 26 into '27 of about 222,000," Staff member said during the review.
Members discussed the funding source for sanitation, noting it is supported by millage and debating whether to increase the millage rate (0.5 to 0.75 mills was mentioned) to meet equipment debt service. Staff also described staffing arrangements and the use of part-time workers.
