Cleveland County opens one-year bids for highway and bridge materials; dozens of vendors respond

The Cleveland County Purchasing representative opened BID #HWY-2140, a one‑year non‑encumbered contract for highway and bridge materials running May 5, 2025, through May 4, 2026. The publicly read vendor list included national and local suppliers such as Compass Minerals America Inc., Dolese Bros. Co., Martin Marietta, Vulcan Inc., Central Salt and A&A Trucking, among others. Commissioners accepted the submissions and postponed award while instructing Purchasing to tabulate and qualify the bids.
Commissioner Jacob McHughes moved to accept the bids and postpone decision, seconded by Rusty Grissom; the motion carried unanimously. Purchasing will present a tabulation and recommendation at a future meeting before any contracts are executed.
