County OKs $25,000 DNR grant and $57,137 design contract for Mineral Springs Creek restoration

The Natural Resources Committee voted March 6 to approve a revenue budget amendment recognizing $25,000 from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Surface Water Management - Surface Water Restoration grant to support resiliency, fish passage and habitat restoration activities on Mineral Springs Creek in the City of Port Washington. The amendment was forwarded to the Finance Committee for further action.
Separately, the committee approved negotiation and signing of a professional services contract, contingent upon Corporation Counsel approval, with Living Water Consultants, Inc., for a not-to-exceed sum of $57,137. The contract amount includes an approximate 15% contingency and covers design and engineering services for resiliency and habitat restoration in Mineral Springs Creek. "Motion to approve the increase of revenue budget amendment recognizing $25,000 from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Surface Water Management - Surface Water Restoration grant for resiliency, fish passage and habitat restoration activities on Mineral Springs Creek in the City of Port Washington," the minutes state.
Committee members recorded the approvals unanimously and directed staff to proceed with necessary contract reviews by Corporation Counsel before final signatures. The Planning & Parks Department will manage the contract and DNR grant coordination.
