Committee expands tree-fund support to fully sponsor landowners' conference attendance

A motion originally proposed to cover 50% of Soil Health Seminar registration costs was amended on the floor by Supervisor T. Matera to cover 100% of registration. Supervisor K. Schoessow seconded the amendment and the body carried the amendment 5-0; the committee then voted on the motion as amended and approved it unanimously. The minutes record the amendment: "Motion made by Supervisor Matera, seconded by Supervisor Schoessow to amend the motion from 50% to 100% of the registration cost. Motion carried. (5-0)."
Committee members discussed the percentage of registration cost to be covered before the amendment. The action directs county funds from the tree-fund account toward outreach and landowner education and does not create new program rules; the Land & Water Management Department will administer the sponsorships.
