Kellie R. Kretlow, County Clerk, summarized highlights from the Wisconsin Counties Association Legislative Conference and briefed the committee on Act 235, which the minutes state goes into effect April 1, 2025 and addresses walking quorums. Finance staff provided an update on sales tax receipts, the standing of the 2024 budget, carryovers and county reserves. Human Resources Director McDonell reported that an ERP consultant will meet with departments to collect data prior to issuing a request for proposals; data collection was estimated to take five to six months. HR also plans to launch a leadership development program in the third quarter. The Information Technology report noted staffing updates, and County Treasurer Tretow updated the committee on interest rates, foreclosures and investments.
