Floyd County Conservation Board accepts committee recommendation to appoint Tyron Steere as director

Jesse Frerichs, board member, moved to accept the committee recommendation; Max Gisleson seconded. The motion passed unanimously, 5-0.
Board members said a closed session to meet candidates had been offered and declined. The minutes record that the committee asked each candidate 14 interview questions before making its recommendation. The board then discussed terms: the director position was offered with a proposed annual salary of $72,827 and a 90-day probationary period. Peter Kloberdanz moved to proceed with the salary, probationary period and timeframe for acceptance; Mary Ramon seconded and the motion carried 5-0. The board asked that Tyron Steere provide his decision by Friday, March 6, 2026.
