The Floyd County Board of Supervisors voted 3-0 on Feb. 24 to enter an agreement with NIACOG to amend zoning rules for Solar Energy Systems. The motion (Rottinghaus/Campbell) authorizes NIACOG to draft solar-specific ordinance language.
Board members said the solar-ordinance work is separate from the battery-storage effort and will focus on standards unique to solar development; the draft will return to the board for local review and any public hearings.
