County staff told the board that "Nobles County 457 feedlots registered in the County and must complete environmental inspections on 7% of the feedlots annually," and that most 2024 inspections were open-lot focused and occurred within the One Watershed, One Plan area. The report and related MPCA County Feedlot Financial Report were accepted as presented.
The approval was moved by Commissioner Bob Paplow and seconded by Commissioner Chris Dybevick. The vote was recorded as duly passed. County staff noted the report is required to be submitted to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA). The board did not discuss changes to inspection targets at the meeting.
The action places the county’s 2024 feedlot compliance and financial reporting on file for submission to MPCA and informs future inspection planning and budgeting.
