Clermont County adopts 2026 appropriations and approves year-end budget adjustments

The Clermont County Board of Commissioners adopted the Annual Appropriations for calendar year 2026 (Resolution 186-25), establishing the legal level of control under Ohio law and waiving the payroll expenditure limitation in specific circumstances for the first half of the fiscal year.
Earlier in the meeting the Board approved supplemental appropriations and budget transfers for calendar year 2025, including a Sheriff continuing professional training increase of $51,854.47, a correction to Soil & Water District funding (-$182,530.00), Prosecuting Attorney other expenses of $27,709.00 and a $323,113 cash transfer from the General Fund to Dog & Kennel. The Board also approved granting all full-time employees an additional eight hours of annual personal leave required to be used on Dec. 26, 2025 (or by Feb. 28, 2026 for offices required to remain open). The annual-appropriations adoption vote was unanimous: Corcoran Yes; Batchler Yes; Painter Yes.
