Teresa "Teri" Smithson, Director of Elections and General Registrar, reported to the Hanover County Electoral Board that "Vote by Mail stats as of today -3179." She said early voting turnout is running higher than past primaries and special elections and that staff are preparing by shifting locations and flows because of building construction.
Smithson told the board a new room and adjusted travel flow for curbside and poll greeting are in place to support early voting. She said staff are tracking turnout and logistics in real time and that the office is prepared for the upcoming election, while acknowledging operational strain from the concurrent facility work.
