Wayne County nursing home reports 15 admissions, 30 on waitlist; administrator to seek funding in Albany

Jeff Stalker, Wayne County Nursing Home Administrator, provided the committee with an operational update, reporting a slight increase in vacant nursing positions but that two registered nurses had been hired. Nursing Home Comptroller Heather Loucks reviewed financial statements during the report.
Stalker gave monthly census and flow figures: "there were 15 admissions, 10 discharges, and five individuals accepted from the waitlist during the month," and said there are currently 30 individuals on the waitlist. He also said he plans to travel to Albany to advocate for additional nursing home funding. The committee approved several nursing home budget and contract transmittals later in the meeting.
