Probation and parole supervisors report 588 people under supervision in Ottawa County

Heath White, supervisor of the Holland probation/parole office, presented the annual report and said county probation and parole staff supervise approximately 588 offenders across Holland, Grand Haven and Hudsonville, with around 300 on parole. He reported 530 pre-sentence investigation reports to the court in 2024, 2,200 administered drug tests (294 positive, primarily methamphetamine), and 7,780 community service hours completed by probationers.
White emphasized offender success programs including vocational training and residential referrals to reduce recidivism and help returning parolees obtain employment and housing. He identified partnerships with local employers and programs such as vocational village and KPEP for residential treatment referrals.
