The Salem Township Planning Commission recommended final approval on April 2 for a building addition and parking expansion for the Westmoreland County Food Bank, located on Tax Map Parcel 57-12-00-0-087. Dan Irvin of Morris Knowles & Associates represented the applicant; the commission’s recommendation carries conditions that must be met before the plan is recorded.
Among the conditions: verify the number of off-street parking spaces matches the plan’s Parking Information Table; accept the applicant’s requested modification to reduce front stall length from 20 feet to 16 feet and the drive aisle from 24 feet to 19 feet for existing front-row parking; obtain WCD erosion and sedimentation control approval; and add a revision number and date to the plan. Township Solicitor Gary Falatovich said, “Final Approval can be granted before the Operation and Maintenance agreement is signed but it will need to be signed before the plan is recorded.” The Township Engineer noted the Stormwater Management Plan has been approved and FTMSA confirmed that a planning module or new tap was not required for the expansion. The commission voted unanimously to recommend final approval subject to the listed conditions.
