The Salem Township Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to approve monthly expenditures for March totaling $652,514.68, including a $524,678.67 charge to the Machinery Fund. The board recorded line items as: General Fund $55,133.26; Payroll Fund $50,555.57; Street Lights $492.33; Machinery $524,678.67; Sewer Revenue $1,101.00; and Liquid Fuels $20,553.85.
Supervisor Kerry Jobe explained the large Machinery Fund amount is tied to a new Gradall purchase and said the township has already received reimbursement of $498,000 from the Commonwealth Financing Authority. "The total cost of the Gradall is $523,000," Jobe said. The board also authorized advertising bids for a used 1986 Gradall (VIN G856069), setting bid receipt by 8:00 a.m. on April 14, 2025, a special meeting to open bids at 9:00 a.m. on April 14, and an award at the April 16 meeting.
Supervisors stressed disclosure compliance for routine business dealings with vendors and recorded unanimous votes (Bob Zundel, Ken Trumbetta, Kerry Jobe) on the motions.
