At the start of the Oct. 29 meeting, resident Jeff Keeney asked the council to consider creating a cross-country skiing track in the area and whether the town maintains a communications system for sharing goods and services.
Keeney suggested possible locations — town park (used in past winter carnivals), the meadow south of Cemetery Point, or near the boat club — and asked about parking. Councilmembers recommended contacting the Forest Service about opening parking at Cemetery Point for both skiing and ice fishing and suggested using local Facebook groups. Clerk Beckki Endicott said the town could include information about community Facebook pages in the Welcome Packet for new residents.
Later in public comment, Jim Truett asked what would be installed in the new roundabout; Mayor Sorensen said, “there was a design for it, but nothing but grass would be in it for now,” and confirmed utilities (water and electricity) are stubbed for future features. The council offered to help Keeney coordinate possible locations and parking.
