The Chattahoochee Hills City Council unanimously adopted a resolution supporting a USDOT Safe Streets and Roads grant application at its Sept. 5 meeting.
Staff said the overall project cap is $2.25 million; the city will request $180,000 from USDOT and provide a $45,000 local match (20%) to develop a safety action plan that identifies pedestrian and intersection conflicts and funds a consultant-led analysis and plan. Staff said the grant is reimbursement-based: the city pays and is reimbursed for eligible expenditures and will issue an RFP with the project cap in place.
Council approved the resolution (24-049) by voice vote. Staff will proceed with the application and, if funded, work with a consultant and the community to develop prioritized safety measures.
