The Bennet City Council voted on Feb. 9 to award the maintenance-building construction bid to Sterup Construction LLC, the meeting record shows. Utility Superintendent Zach Fergus presented five bids: Sterup Construction LLC, $90,000.00; Vasa Construction, $122,279.00; Morton Buildings, $124,218.00; Ebbers Construction, $125,526.01; and Elevate Construction LLC, $129,722.04.
After discussing contract requirements and requesting engineered drawings, the council approved the award to Sterup Construction pending submission of the engineered plans. The motion to award was made by Dan Zieg and seconded by Jesse Schmidt; the roll-call vote was unanimous (Schmidt, Simmons, Zieg, Buck). The council recorded that final contract requirements will include provision of engineered drawings before moving to contract execution.
