Interim administrator recommends cutting Committee of the Whole meetings to twice monthly

Interim County Administrator Mike Sepic told the Finance Committee that finding topics for Committee of the Whole meetings has become difficult and "his recommendation was that we still continue to have the 1st and 3rd Committee of the Whole meetings and cancel the 2nd and 4th going forward." The committee expressed support for trying that schedule and Sepic said he would discuss the idea with the two parent committees for additional feedback.
Committee members also discussed potential subjects for the next scheduled Committee of the Whole on March 19, noting the Parks Department needs a public hearing to satisfy grant requirements. Commissioner Teri Freehling suggested planning events around the nation's 250th Anniversary as a possible topic. Board Chairman Mac Elliott asked members interested in attending the upcoming Michigan Association of Counties (MAC) conference to notify Executive Assistant Annette Christie by next week.
