YWCA House of Peace seeks county support; commissioners approve funding and hear shelter update

The Board voted to approve an application from the Young Women's Christian Association of Greater Cincinnati for the release of funds collected from marriage-license fees, estimated at $37,839.20 collected in Calendar Year 2024, for operation of the House of Peace for the period Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2025. The motion was adopted unanimously (Commissioners Corcoran, Batchler and Painter voting Yes). The action cites Ohio Revised Code Sections 3113.34, 2303.201(D) and 3113.35(B).
