Board approves interlocal agreement with Cascadia Tech to expand skill-center access

Superintendent Ingrid Colvard told the board that beginning in the 2025–26 school year Washougal will host two Cascadia Tech skill-center programs (Forestry Management and Teaching Academy) that will be available to Stevenson High School students. Colvard said students historically could not attend a skill center because of distance, and that the new site should make participation possible.
Board members discussed transportation costs; Colvard said increased transportation expenses were possible but noted that staffing and route consolidation could mitigate costs and that the state may reimburse transportation. On a motion by Lisa Birney, seconded by Mark Chambers, the board approved signing the interlocal agreement with Cascadia Tech.
