Fall Festival set for Oct. 25; events committee asks Town to help advertise

Hillary Evans, speaking for the Huntsville Events Committee, presented the Fall Festival plan and requested Town support for publicity.
"The Fall Festival would be on October 25th beginning at 12:00 with various games and ending with a trunk or treat at 4:00," Evans said. The committee outlined activities including an obstacle course, a bake-off, kickball, tug-of-war, a pie-eating contest, a costume parade and a trunk-or-treat.
Committee membership listed in the materials includes Chandlyr Shupe, Hillary Evans, Briana Bingham, Star Primm, and Marian Devries; the committee asked the Town to post the event on the town website and include it in the town email blast. The committee said it hoped to keep the event free for attendees and that having a 501(c)(3) sponsor would increase the chance of securing underwriters and in-kind support.
The council did not vote on funding at the Oct. 2 meeting but agreed to assist with promotion once staff confirm details.
