Staff to refine director job description; commission to follow MOU for reporting

Commissioners discussed several proposed edits to the PRC director job description and whether the director should report to the town administrator with commission input. The chair said the commission should continue to operate under the existing MOU unless members formally amend it.
Michelle (staff) said she would edit the job description to reflect the current reporting structure and noted the department's class-and-comp study has produced a draft that staff can feed into the updated format. "So if I could through you as the chair, Peter, I will have to go back and edit the job description appropriately to account for that because I do not believe it is dated properly," Michelle said.
Commissioners agreed the draft from the class-and-comp study can be used now for posting because none of the suggested edits presented so far would change the job grade; the select board will later review job-description changes as part of the broader implementation of the study.
