The Finance Committee reviewed Bid #2026-025 on March 12, 2026, covering security and electrical upgrades for the county administration building. Submitted base security bids were TRG $408,593.11 and Roggow Construction $243,000; electrical base bids were TRG $320,936 and Roggow $559,000. An alternate price comparison showed TRG Alternate #1 at $126,996.80 and Roggow at $243,000.
Building and Grounds Superintendent Don Trail told the committee that the committee's projected cost estimate relied on 2020 pricing and that supply costs have risen since then; he said he would try to work with vendors to reduce prices but doubted the older projection could be met. Commissioner Mac Elliott moved and Commissioner Rayonte Bell supported a referral to the department with authorization to proceed with the lowest responsive, responsible bidder; the motion carried. Departments seeking to proceed with a non-lowest bidder must submit a written justification to the Finance Committee.
