Commissioner recommends creating a business-manager role for finance and payroll oversight

"I would like to be able to have an opportunity to propose to you, all in the future, of the potential of a little bit of a rework shift and identifying a different position to put in place that really will and, this is a 10,000 foot view," the commissioner said, adding the idea was not intended to alarm current employees. The commissioner emphasized the new role would focus on financial operations so directors and program coordinators could concentrate on programming.
Commissioners acknowledged the suggestion and said it should be discussed in detail at the planned retreat and in coordination with the town's classification and compensation review to avoid unintended grade or funding consequences.
