Chief Tienken presented the Winhall Police Department's August activity report, outlining traffic tickets and warnings, vehicle accidents, property-watch and alarm responses, animal matters and medical and agency assists in and around Winhall and Stratton Mountain Resort. He told the Selectboard that federal funding is now available for search-and-rescue reimbursement, including snowmobile use and officer wages.
Tienken also reported equipment needs: the department plans to replace Tasers with updated technology and needs to upgrade body and cruiser cameras. The report was presented as informational; no procurement vote was recorded at the meeting. The department's funding prospects for equipment upgrades were described as contingent on securing grant or federal reimbursements.
