Selectboard pursues expanded Village Center boundary after state walk-through

Coleman, Jeff Yates and Lucia Wing walked proposed Village Center boundary lines with Richard Amore from the State and decided to expand the designation to include Bondville Bloomist, the Norse House purple barn and farmhouse, and the Hatts' property on River Road; Fire House and Town Hall were excluded for distance.
Stuart Coleman said he, Jeff Yates and Lucia Wing (WPC) met with Richard Amore from the State to walk the proposed Village Center boundary. Following the site visit, the group decided to expand the designation to include Bondville Bloomist, the Norse House purple barn and farmhouse, and property owned by the Hatts along River Road.
Coleman said the State representative, Richard Amore, explained that designation benefits can include technical assistance, prioritization for grants and tax credits to encourage redevelopment, incentivize housing and support rebuilding after a disaster. Amore noted the Fire House and Town Hall could not be included in the Village Center boundary because of their distance from the core village.
