The Winhall Selectboard on Aug. 7 approved a sign at the intersection of Black Cherry Ridge and Kendall Farm Roads that will read "Black Cherry Ridge Road PVT." Member Julie Isaacs moved the measure; William Schwartz seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The board concluded the route is a right-of-way per deeds and not a town-managed road, so it cannot be closed or blocked by adjacent owners. The Selectboard recommended that owners along the road draft a road maintenance agreement to clarify responsibilities for repairs and upkeep.
