4‑H outlines career curriculum; new Weed & Pest supervisor introduced

Sonia Mack, Brookings County 4‑H Educator, briefed the commission about a new online career‑exploration curriculum called Operation Occupation and said national 4‑H is adopting a framework called "Beyond Ready" intended to prepare youth for future careers. Weed & Pest Supervisor Tim Huber introduced himself to the board, said he will work Tuesdays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through spring and is working toward an applicator license. The board welcomed Huber and recorded the personnel action establishing his part‑time position at $27.49 per hour effective March 4, 2026.
County Development Director Robert Hill said he will attend the SDDOH Healthcare Coalition Conference March 23–25 and will report back to the commission following the event.
