After a closed executive session, Parker County Commissioners Court authorized steps toward property acquisition tied to transportation projects.
The court voted to approve a partial appraisal and to proceed with a final offer in preparation for eminent domain to acquire property at 10400 Azle Highway in Azle, Texas, for the Church Road realignment project. Commissioner Connolly made the motion, which the court approved 5–0. The court also authorized offers up to appraised value for parcels at Champions Drive and the southwest corner of Champions Drive and East Bankhead Highway as negotiations continue.
County counsel confirmed the appraisal materials had been reviewed. Commissioners characterized the actions as preparatory steps for right-of-way assembly needed to move bond-funded road projects forward, and they authorized staff to proceed with negotiations and settlement offers as discussed in closed session.
