Parker County elections office reports turnout, plans outreach to underused polling sites

Cricket told commissioners the county saw about 17% turnout in the Nov. 4 election, with a total of 22,617 votes counted. She said she had provided commissioners with a sheet comparing 2022–2025 registration and turnout figures and noted registered voters were increasing even if turnout remained within normal ranges for constitutional amendment ballots.
"We had 10,572 that voted during early voting, 11,807 on election day, 230 mail in ballots, 15, limiteds, and then we had 2 provisionals that were counted," Cricket said. She added that turnout varies by county depending on which contests are on the ballot.
To reduce lines in future elections, Cricket said the office will promote additional voting locations — the county has 36 sites in total — so voters realize there are more options than the five they sometimes expect. A commissioner recommended mapping historically underutilized sites and promoting two easy-entry locations per precinct to encourage voters to use less congested sites.
