Oak Ridge Drive awarded to DDM Construction; transportation bond projects advance

Parker County Commissioners Court approved an award for Oak Ridge Drive and moved several bond-era projects forward in its Dec. 8 meeting.
Dustin, presenting the bid results, said the county received four bids and recommended awarding the base bid plus alternate B and alternate D to DDM Construction. “So we're asking to award this contract to DDM Construction in the amount of $11,869,805.04,” the presenter said. Commissioners approved the award by unanimous vote.
Staff also outlined the program budget: Oak Ridge total project costs across phase 1 and phase 2 are nearly $15,000,000, with a phase 1 budget of roughly $11,000,000. The court approved proposed budget reallocations to fund phase 1 work and related county-conducted construction tasks.
In a broader update, Morgan McElwain of Friese Nichols summarized monthly coordination with NetCOG, TxDOT and municipalities. She told the court TxDOT agreed to a permit for the U.S. 377/Kelly Road signal — a development the county described as removing the need for an access-flag agreement and speeding delivery for that intersection.
The court also approved routine bond-related items including moving a maintenance-bond call for Ellis Creek improvement projects and scheduling bid openings for other roadways.
