The Lawrence County Commission approved the bulk of the 2026–2027 retail malt beverage license renewals following a public hearing on May 12, 2026. The record lists numerous renewals the board approved and two renewals approved contingent on property taxes being paid to date (Jutrda, LLC — Fish 'N Fry Campground; The Crossings at Spearfish Canyon LLC — Cheyenne Crossing).
Commissioner Brandon Flanagan requested that the Boars Nest Roadhouse LLC renewal be continued to the May 26 meeting at 8:25 a.m. so the board could hear from the Sheriff, the Department of Transportation and the Highway Patrol; Dale and Carolgene Peters submitted written complaints about the Boars Nest Roadhouse that were entered into the record. The commission voted to continue the Boars Nest renewal and requested agency input before making a final decision (moved Flanagan, second Tysdal).
