Elko County Clerk Rebecca Plunkett told the Board that the Nov. 5 general election "ran according to plan" and thanked poll workers, new staff and public‑safety partners for security and support.
"My staff was amazing for this election," Plunkett said, crediting poll workers, the sheriff's office (including undersheriff Justin Ames and Lieutenant Adrian Perry) and the county's director of emergency management for assistance. She said Starlink service was used at some polling sites "for our check‑in kiosk" so poll workers could confirm voter check‑ins across the county and reduce the risk of duplicate voting.
Plunkett said there were no machine delays reported and that most wait times were concentrated at the check‑in kiosk step when many new or same‑day registrants were processed.
