Elko County commissioners approve canvass of Nov. 5 general election

The Elko County Board of Commissioners voted to accept the canvass of the Nov. 5, 2024 general election following a presentation by Elko County Clerk Rebecca Plunkett.
Plunkett reviewed turnout and registration figures and answered commissioners’ questions before a motion to accept the results. Commissioner (SEG 266) moved “to accept the results from the election as presented by the clerk,” and the board carried the motion on a voice vote after one public comment. Chair (speech) praised the staff’s work and said the county has not had election integrity problems in recent cycles.
The public comment period included a statement from Scott Gavorski on behalf of the Elko County Republican Party praising how smoothly the election ran. After the canvass vote the board approved its commission meeting calendar and adjourned.
