Friese Nichols reports progress on Parker County transportation bond projects; several change orders approved

Consultants from Friese Nichols presented the December report on the county’s 2023 transportation bond program, outlining right‑of‑way activity and anticipated construction starts for Midway Road, Thomas Road and the Stewart Street signal. Program staff said they have added a project progress bar to the bond program website and encouraged residents to submit questions through the site.
The court approved several contract items: a $56,319.64 credit change order for the completed WN Woody project because some final work will be performed under an existing IDIQ contract; and a change order on the Kelly Road project that staff said “reduce[s] the contract price by $4,040,283 dollars and 25¢” while adding a southbound right‑turn lane. The court also approved the Ville Station Road construction award (base plus alternate $273,327.50) and construction‑phase services for inspection and testing ($85,953). Morgan McElwain of Friese Nichols said the “program is in good shape” and staff promised more precise start dates in the next update.
