A joint session of the Brown County Area Plan Commission and the Brown County Board of Commissioners met May 26 to begin discussing preparation and adoption options for the Brown County Comprehensive Plan. President Carol Bowden opened the meeting and framed the session as an opportunity for the Board and Commission to consider next steps on the countywide plan.
The record shows Commissioners requested a Scope of Work from Rundell Ernstberger Associates (REA) to inform the plan process. The Commission later scheduled a June 23, 2026 agenda item to address steps to comply with state laws cited in the minutes (House Enrolled Act 1001, Public Law 73, and House Bill 1210, Public Law 157). No final adoption or vote on the comprehensive plan occurred at this meeting; the discussion centered on preparing materials and coordinating board and commission review.
